Recalled that during the youth and engagement rally last month, the Governor had promised to launch an employment portal where Akwa Ibom youths with marketable skills set will be engaged in gainful employment.
Now, The Akwa Ibom State employment of 5,000 youths application portal for online registration will open from Monday, October 21,2024. NOTE: This Programme is only for indigenes and currently unemployed or JobSeekers across the 31 Local Government Area for the N50,000 monthly empowerment.
Who Should Apply for the Program?
To be eligible to apply for Akwa Ibom State Youth Employment Program, applicants must:
- Be between the ages of 18 and 45
- Be indigenes of Akwa Ibom State
- Be currently unemployed or seeking employment

- Visit: www.employment.akwaibomstate.gov.ng
- Create your personal account with basic information such as:
- Names
- Passport photograph
- Phone number
- Email address
- National Identification Number (NIN)
- Voter Identification Number (VIN)
- Upload their educational qualifications and relevant academic information that will help prospective employees access and verify applicants’ eligibility.

However, The portal (www.employment.akwaibomstate.gov.ng) will also serve as the official platform for the recruitment into Akwa Ibom State Civil Service, the Dakkada Skill Acquisition Training Programmes and recruitment into Ibom Community Watch (ICW) among others.
Where all the unemployed and underemployed youths in AKSG can register to access employment opportunities and training support from both the Akwa Ibom State Government and the Organized Private Sector.
It will serve as a pool where the Government and Private Sector can access to identify skilled youths for targeted employment into the civil service and private sector.
