If you are currently in JSS3 and getting ready to sit for the Junior WAEC exams, the registration portal for 2025/2026 Junior WAEC Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) is now open. Applications for JSS3 students are being accepted. Follow the instructions and submit your application via the official BECE portal.
Who Can Register for BECE 2025/2026?
The BECE is conducted for students in their third and final year of Junior Secondary School (JSS3). Both public and private schools that have been approved by their State Ministries of Education can participate.
Registration for 2025/2026 BECE involves both offline and online processes. Manual entries are no longer accepted. Schools must first input candidate data offline and then upload it online.
BECE Registration Fees and Charges
Below are the approved fees for the BECE 2025/2026 session:
- Registration Fee: ₦8,700.00 per candidate
- Unviable Centre Fee: ₦12,500.00
- Syllabus Fee: ₦1,500.00 per copy
- Late Registration Penalty: Additional ₦2,000.00 per candidate
- Re-sit Fee: ₦3,000.00 per subject per candidate
- Additional Charges: Stamp Duty, Service and Remita fees apply
Eligibility for BECE 2025/2026
Only JSS3 students are eligible for registration. This examination is open to school-based candidates within Nigeria and abroad. School heads and education officials are responsible for enforcing this eligibility policy.
Steps to Register for BECE 2025/2026
- Visit the NECO website (www.neco.gov.ng) to download the offline registration tool.
- Use the NECO portal to pay the required fees. Your registration quota will be allocated based on the payment.
- Upload Candidate Data:
- Connect your computer to the internet.
- Open the offline registration application.
- Click “Payment and Upload,” then select “Check Payment.”
- Log in with your administrator credentials and upload the candidates’ information.
After registration, download the official BECE timetable to know your exam dates and access BECE past questions in PDF format to prepare effectively for the exams.
BECE Registration Deadline
The closing date for BECE registration has been officially announced. Be sure to complete your application before the deadline, as late registrations will incur penalties or may not be accepted.
