The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) also known as Junior WAEC is the official exam for students completing their JSS3 level in Nigeria. The 2025/2026 BECE registration portal is now open for schools and eligible candidates.

Who Is Eligible to Register for BECE 2025?
Candidates eligible for the 2025 BECE must:
- Be in JSS3 (Junior Secondary School 3) in a recognized school
- Be presented through a registered school (public or private)
- Have completed at least three full years of Junior Secondary School education
- Be prepared to sit for basic subjects like English, Mathematics, Basic Science, Social Studies and others
Note: Private candidates (external students) cannot register directly. Registration must be through schools approved by the State Ministry of Education or National Examinations Council (NECO).

How to Register for BECE 2025/2026
Follow these steps to complete your school’s BECE registration for 2025:
1. Visit the NECO BECE Registration Portal
Go to the official portal via https://www.neco.gov.ng
2. Log in as a School Admin
Schools must log in with their unique NECO school code and password. First-time users must create a profile.
3. Enter Candidate Information
Fill in all candidates’ bio-data and select subjects carefully.
4. Upload Passport Photographs
Make sure each candidate’s photo is clear and follows the guidelines.
5. Make Payment via Remita
Pay the total fees and save the receipt for verification.
6. Print Registration Slips
After successful submission, print the candidate’s registration slip.
7. Download BECE Timetable
Once registered, get the official timetable and start preparing.
BECE Registration Closing Date 2025
The BECE 2025/2026 deadline for normal registration ends Friday 2 May 2025. Late registration attracts a penalty of ₦2,000 per candidate.
