The Department of State Services (DSS) has officially announced the start of its 2025 recruitment exercise for qualified medical and clinical professionals across Nigeria. This nationwide recruitment aims to strengthen the DSS healthcare department and improve medical support within the agency.

Available Positions for DSS Medical Recruitment 2025
The DSS is currently accepting applications for the following medical roles:
1. Medical Doctors
2. Dentists
3. Registered Nurses & Midwives
4. Pharmacists
5. Physiotherapists
6. Optometrists
7. Radiographers (Imaging Scientists)
8. Clinical Psychologists
9. Medical Laboratory Scientists
10. Dieticians & Nutritionists
These roles are open only to qualified professionals with verifiable training and certification.
General Requirements for DSS Recruitment 2025
All applicants must meet the following conditions:
1) Nationality
- Only Nigerian citizens are eligible.
2) Age Requirements
All applicants must be between 20 and 30 years old.
3) Educational Qualifications
- Minimum of Five (5) O’level credits including English Language in one sitting.
- A recognized Bachelor’s Degree or HND with at least Second-Class Lower (2:2) or its equivalent in relevant medical fields.
4) NYSC Requirement
- A valid NYSC discharge certificate is compulsory.
5) Physical & Medical Fitness
- Candidates must be physically and mentally fit for duty.
- Male applicants must have a minimum height of 1.60m.
- Female applicants must be single at the time of application.
How to Apply for DSS Recruitment 2025 (Medical Officers)
The DSS does not use an online portal for this recruitment.
All applications must be submitted physically at your State DSS Command Headquarters.
Follow the steps below:
Step 1: Prepare Your Documents
Applicants must arrange and submit the following documents:
- A detailed and updated Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- A handwritten application letter (addressed properly, see below)
- Photocopies of all academic and professional certificates
- A recent passport photograph
- A valid means of identification (NIN, Voter’s Card or Passport)
Step 2: Address Your Application to
The Director General,
Department of State Services (DGSS).
Step 3: Submit to DSS Command in Your State of Origin
Go to the Administrative Unit at the DSS Command Headquarters in your State of Origin and submit your application file.
This is where your documents will be reviewed, verified and recorded.
Step 4: Wait for Screening Updates
All shortlisted candidates will be contacted for:
- Document screening
- Medical examination
- Aptitude test
- Physical interview
All official updates will be communicated through the DSS.
