The Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC) has officially announced plans to recruit over 10,000 new staff across various ministries, departments and agencies. This recruitment drive spans all 23 local government areas and targets both graduates and non-graduates.
The application process will be conducted entirely online via the official RSCSC portal and no payment is required. Only one application per candidate is allowed.

The job openings are categorized into two main groups: Category A (Professional/Graduate positions) and Category B (Non-Graduate/Junior roles).
Category A – Graduate & Skilled Positions
Applicants must possess relevant degrees, diplomas or certifications for professional roles such as:
1. Accountant: Candidate must possess a degree in Accounting or Accountancy
2. Administrative Officer: Candidate must possess a degree in the Social Sciences, Humanities or Arts.
3. Architect: Candidate must possess a degree in Architecture or Final I examination of the Nigeria Institute of Architects
4. Anesthetic Technician: must Candidate possess certificate/diploma in Anesthetics.
5. Assistant Dental Technologist: Candidate must possess ND in Dental Technology.
6. Assistant Education Officer: Candidate must possess National Certification in Education.
7. Assistant Procurement Officer: Candidate must possess HND in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Accountancy, Law, Insurance, Management, Banking and Finance, Quantity Surveying, Engineering and Computer Science.
8. Auditor: Candidate must possess a degree in Accounting or Accountancy.
9. Biomedical Engineering Technology/Technicians: Candidate must possess ND/HND in Biomedical Engineering Technology
10. Commercial Officer: Candidate must possess a degree in Co-operative Economics, Administration, Business Management, Commerce or Marketing
11. Confidential Secretary: Candidate must possess a degree in Secretarial Administration
12. Cultural Officer: Candidate must possess a degree in Fine Arts, Music, ‘Theatre Arts, Linguistics or Journalism,
13.:Curator: Candidate must possess a degree in Anthropology, History, Sociology, Fine Arts or Music.
14. Data Processing Officer: Candidate must possess ND in Computer Studies or Data Processing.
15. Data Processing Assistants: Candidate must possess S.75, JSSC or GCE (Ordinary level) with three credits at one sitting or four credits at two sittings.
16. Dental Officer: Candidate must possess a degree in Dental Surgery.
17. Dental Surgery Technician: Candidate must possess diploma (ND) in Dental Surgery.
18. Dental Technologist: Candidate must possess HND in Dental Technology.
19. Dental Therapist: Candidate must possess an ND/HND in Dental Therapy-
20. Dietician: Candidate must possess a degree or HND in Dietetics. possess
21. Dispensing Optician: must Candidate diploma/certificate in dispensing opticianry.
22. Education Officer: Candidate must possess a degree in Education.
23. Engineer: Candidate must possess a degree in Engineering Electrical, Gas, marine, Chemical, Civil,(Agriculture, Mechanical, Petroleum, Computer, Industrial etc).
24. Environmental Health Officer: Candidate must possess a degree in Environmental Health Science/Management or related course.
25. Environmental Health superintendent: Candidate must possess HND in Environmental Health Science.
26. Executive Officer (Accounts): Candidate must possess HND in Accounting or Accountancy.
27. Executive Officer (Revenue): Candidate must possess HND in Accounting or Accountancy.
28. Executive Officer (General Duties): candidate must possess ND in Business Administration /Studies or Public Administration
29. Fisheries Officer: Candidate must possess a degree in Zoology Fisheries, Biology, Bio-Chemistry or Agriculture
30. Geologist: Candidate must possess a degree in Geology.
31. Hydrogeologist/Hydrologist: Candidate must possess a degree in Geology or Applied Geology.
32. Information Officer: Candidate must possess a degree in Arts Journalism, Mass Communication, Social Sciences or English Language.
33. Inspector of Taxes: Candidate must possess a degree in Accountancy, Business Administration or Economics
34. Labour Officer: Candidate must possess a degree in Arts, Social Sciences or Law.
35. Land Officer: Candidate must possess a degree in Estate Management or Land Economy
36. Librarian: Candidate must possess a degree in Library Studies
37. Livestock Officer: Candidate must possess a degree in Zoology, Sciences, Animal Husbandry/Animal Production Animal Agriculture or Range Management.
38. Medical Imaging Technicians: Candidate must possess ND in Medical Imaging Technology
39. Medical Imaging Technologist/Radiographer: Candidate must degree/HND in Radiography/Medical imaging Technology
40. Medical Laboratory Scientist: Candidate must possess a degree in Medical Laboratory Science
41. Medical Laboratory Technician: Candidate must possess WASC/SSCE and evidence of completion of a three-year training in a recognized institution, and obtained the registration of the Institute of Medical Laboratory Technology of Nigeria for Technician cadre.
42. Medical Laboratory Technologist: Candidate must possess Associate Membership of the Institute of Medical Laboratory technologist of Nigeria, WASC or SSCE plus the National Diploma of the Institute of Medical Laboratory Technology (obtained after four years course) and registration with the medical Laboratory Council of Nigeria for Health Technologist.
43. Medical Officer: Candidate must possess a degree in Medicine/Surgery (MBBS or MBBCH)
44. Medical Records Technician: Candidate must possess Associate Membership of The Association of Medical Records Technicians, Associate Membership of Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators, Certificate of Registration of the Institute of Medical Laboratory technology for Technician Cadres after successful completion of the prescribed three years’ training programme.
45. Nursing Officer: Candidate must possess a degree in Nursing
46. Nursing Superintendent: Candidate must be a Registered Nurse/Midwife.
47. Optometrist: Candidate must possess a degree in Optometry or equivalent qualification.
48. Orthopedic Cast Technologist: Candidate must possess diploma in Orthopedic Cast Technology.
49. Pharmacist: Candidate must possess a degree in Pharmacy.
50. Pharmacy Assistant: Candidate must possess Pharmacy Assistant Certificate.
51. Pharmacy Technician: Candidate must possess the Pharmacy Technician Certificate
52. Physiotherapist: Candidate must possess a degree in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution and membership Certificate of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists.
53. Planning Officer: Candidate must possess a degree in Economics, Statistics
54. Procurement Officer: Candidate must possess a degree in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Accountancy, Law, Insurance, Management, Banking and Finance, Quantity Surveying, Engineering and Computer Science.
55. Programme Analyst: A candidate must possess a degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics.
56. Quantity Surveyor: Candidate must possess a degree in Quantity Surveying.
57. Scientific Officer (Health, Water Resources, Environment): Candidate must possess a degree in Physics, Geophysics, BioChemistry, Chemistry, Microbiology.
58. Social Welfare Officer: Candidate must possess a degree in Sociology or Physical or Health Education or Social Works.
59. Social Works Superintendent: Candidate must possess diploma in Social Works or ND in Social Development.
60. State Counsel: Candidate must possess a degree in Law and must have been called to the bar.
61. Statistician: Candidate must possess a degree in Statistics and Mathematics.
62. Surveyor: Candidate must possess a degree in Land Surveying or Survey Engineering, Geodetics Science o Geodetic Engineering.
63. Technical Officer (Survey, Works, Town Planning, Water, Transport, Health, ete ): Candidate must possess HND in any of the Technical Officer Fields
64. Tourism Officer: Candidate must possess a degree in Tourism, Arts or Social Science.
65. Town Planning Officer: Candidate must possess a degree in Urban and Regional Planning or Town Planning
66. Veterinary Officer: Candidate must possess a degree in Veterinary Medicine or Science.
67. Youth Development Officer: Candidate must possess a degree in Social Science or Physical and Health Education.
Category B – Non-Graduate and Entry-Level Positions
These roles are designed for individuals with FSLC, WAEC, NECO or OND qualifications:
1. Artisan/Craftsman: Candidate must possess FSLC and a pass in the Trade Test Class 1II, II, I.
2. Cameraman: Candidate must possess ND in Mass Communication or Cinematography
3. Cleaners/Gardeners: Candidate must be physically fit and able- bodied.
4. Clerical Assistant: Candidate must possess Junior Secondary School Certificate or GCE O/Level in three subjects obtained at one sitting.
5. Clerical Officer: Candidate must possess WAEC/NECO with 4 credits at one sitting or 5 credits at two sittings
6. Driver: Candidate must possess a minimum of FSLC, S.75, WAEC or NECO with a valid Class ‘C’ Driving License.
7. Messenger: Candidate must possess FSLC
8. Official Reporter: Candidate must possess WAEC and a Diploma with evidence of computer literacy.
9. Security Guards: Candidates must possess FSLC and evidence of either training in the Nigerian Police, Military or para military.
10. Store Assistant: Candidate must possess WAEC, NECO OR SSCE.
10. Veterinary Laboratory Assistant: Candidate must possess WAEC with a pass in Chemistry
11. Works Superintendent: Candidate must possess ND in relevant subject, NABTEB.
General Qualifications & Eligibility Criteria
Before applying, ensure you meet these basic requirements:
- Age Limit: Applicants must be between 18 and 50 years.
- Educational Qualification: You must meet the minimum educational requirement for the position.
- Single Application Rule: Submitting more than one application will result in automatic disqualification.
- Employment Status: Individuals currently working with Rivers State Government are not eligible to apply.
