If you have written the 2025 UTME and discovered your score doesn’t meet your chosen course or institution’s cutoff, don’t panic. JAMB allows you to change your course or institution through an official online portal.

This process is called JAMB Change of Course and Institution and it’s available now for all 2025 UTME candidates.

Here is everything you need to know, how much it costs, the correct portal, how to apply and when it closes.

How Much Is JAMB Change of Course or Institution for 2025?

The official price for JAMB change of course or institution is ₦3,000 only. You will also need to pay a small remita or bank service charge of ₦500. So, the total cost is ₦3,500.

Note: You can only change your course or institution twice. Choose wisely.

What Can You Change?

You are allowed to change the following details on your JAMB portal:

  • Change of institution (1st, 2nd, 3rd choices)
  • Change of course (in any institution)
  • Change of state or LGA of origin
  • Change of gender or date of birth
  • Change of subject combinations (rare)

Most students use this option when:

  • They scored below the cutoff for their first choice
  • Their chosen school is not offering the course
  • They want to apply to a polytechnic or college instead
  • They discover new schools with lower requirements

How to Apply for JAMB Change of Course and Institution 2025

Follow these simple steps to complete your application successfully:

Step 1: Visit JAMB Portal

Go to the official JAMB e-facility portal: https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng

Step 2: Login

Enter your email and password used for your UTME registration.

Step 3: Choose “Correction of Data”

On your dashboard, click “Correction of Data”, then select “Change of Course/Institution”.

Step 4: Make Payment

You’ll be redirected to make payment of ₦2,500 via Remita. You can pay with ATM, online banking, or print a payment slip to pay at the bank.

Step 5: Choose New Course or Institution

After successful payment, select your new course and/or institution. Ensure the course aligns with your UTME subject combination and score.

Step 6: Submit and Print Slip

Click “Submit” to save changes. Print out the confirmation slip as proof.

JAMB Change of Course/Institution Closing Date 2025

JAMB has not officially announced the closing date yet. It’s best to apply as soon as possible, especially before schools begin post-UTME screening.

Important Tips Before You Apply

  • Check your school’s cutoff mark and available courses before applying
  • Use an accredited CBT center if you’re unsure how to do it yourself
  • You can only make corrections twice – avoid multiple errors
  • Make sure your UTME subject combination fits your new course

Example: You chose Medicine at UNILAG but scored 189. You can now switch to Nursing at a polytechnic or Biology at a federal university with a lower cutoff.
